This look… To say that it’s one of my favorites is an understatement. I’ve been wearing it FOR YEARS, and it has shown up many times on MBB in different iterations (most recently in the MAC Hyper Real Palette post), but I don’t know (or at least I can’t remember) if I’ve ever really broken it down before. I don’t know why, but whenever someone asks me about it, I’m always surprised — maybe because it doesn’t seem like anything special — but now that I think about it, there must be a reason I rely on it so much....

Tabs’s relationship with birds was complicated. On one hand, he deeply believed, to the core of his being, that he was a birder. Not a mouser, but a birder 100%. This, of course, was all fine and good till he actually had to work with birds. I can’t imagine how challenging it must have been to pose alongside a coworker, while also wanting to gobble them up. It’s been a particularly “taupe” season, which I guess in the grand scheme of traumatic makeup horrors isn’t Armageddon-caliber, because at least I had the wherewithal to line my lash lines and incorporate one or two matte browns, but ya know…when you’re bonding with a dental hygienist at a new dentist’s office and she asks what you do for a living, and you say, “I write about makeup!” you know better than to wear taupe...
